Student Internship Committee
The duties of the MSRT Student Internship committee shall be as follows:
1. The Chairman of this committee shall be the MSRT President, unless otherwise designated. Committee members shall include all MSRT Board members who are not sponsoring a candidate as well as the Student Activities Chairman. In the event the MSRT President is sponsoring a candidate, he will designate a new Chairman.
2. Information regarding the internship, application, deadline, and necessary forms will be mailed to each educational program in Missouri and the Publications Chair. Such information shall be mailed in time to allow for maximum participation.
3. The return address for all applications shall be the mailing address of the Student Internship Committee Chairman. This will expedite the application and judging process.
4. Applications will be reviewed by all committee members at the spring Board of Directors meeting. At that time a student intern will be chosen.
5. The Chairman will make all necessary arrangements for contacting the Publications Chair with the name of the MSRT Student Internship winner as soon as he has been identified.
6. The Chairman will arrange contact with the winner as soon as possible to insure the student has ample time to arrange to attend the Presidential Banquet during the Annual Conference. A banquet ticket will be provided.
7. The Chairman will submit a written report to the Board at the Pre-Conference Board meeting. This report will include such items as the number of applicants, the points awarded each applicant, any applications that were disallowed, and other pertinent data.
8. The Chairman will keep a list of each winner and the date the awards were given.

Student Internship Program
There will be one (1) student internship available for a second year radiography student who meets the necessary qualifications. The recipient will shadow MSRT Board members during regular meetings of the MSRT Board of Directors and during the MSRT Annual Conference. The recipient will receive all privileges and financial compensation of an MSRT Board member except the ability to vote. Candidates must be sponsored by a current MSRT Board member.
Requirements:
The candidate must:
Be a student member of the MSRT.
Be in good standings with a training program acceptable for credit by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Be able to attend all regular meetings of the MSRT Board of Directors.
The recipient is required to attend the annual conference to receive his/her award. Note: The recipient will be notified of his/her selection prior to the conference, and registration fees will be waived for day the internship award is given.

Application Procedure:
1. Complete the internship application form.
2. Submit two (2) letters of recommendation, in a sealed envelope, using the forms provided. The sponsoring Board member must complete one of the recommendation forms.
3. Submit a Personal Essay.
4. Submit Program Directors verification of the candidate's student status.
5. Submit proof of MSRT student membership.
6. Submit Sponsorship Form.
Directions for Personal Essay:
Essay must be typewritten on a separate piece of paper and must be 1000 words or less in length, double-spaced and in 12-point font. Essay content must include the following information:
Personal or academic achievements
Career goals
Professional goals
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
