Throughout the month, American Airlines and Northwest Airlines will broadcast a three-minute interview with ASRT President Donna Newman, B.A., R.T.(R), CNMT, on their inflight radio programs. In
the interview, Ms. Newman discusses issues affecting the profession of
radiologic technology, including the personnel Her interview will air on Channel 5 of the American Airlines inflight audio system, which is the Radio Forbes Business and Technology Channel. The segment also will air throughout November on the Business and Technology Channel on Northwest Airlines, Channel 9. The segment, which will be broadcast throughout November, will be heard on more than 23,000 flights carrying more than 3.6 million passengers worldwide. November traditionally is the heaviest month for U.S. air travel. It is also the month that includes National Radiologic Technology Week®, an annual event designed to raise awareness of the radiologic science profession. This year’s celebration is Nov. 3-9. The interview is part of a special audio program titled “Answering America’s Call: Associations at Work.” Presented by the American Society for Association Executives, the program showcases how prominent not-for-profit organizations benefit America. Associations ranging from the Shriners of North America to the National Criminal Justice Association have been featured on the program in the past few months. “I’m excited to be able to deliver ASRT’s message to such a large audience,” said Ms. Newman. “This program is a great opportunity to educate people about the profession of radiologic technology and the role of radiologic technologists.” To listen to the interview, visit ASRT’s Web site at www.asrt.org.
