On March 9 more than 100 radiologic technologists will be on Capitol Hill lobbying for HR 1214 (the CARE bill) and S 1197 (the RadCARE bill). RT’s from your home state will be visiting Senator James Talent, Senator Christopher Bond and Congressman Kenny Hulshof to ask them to support Congress’ enactment of Federal education and credentialing standards for medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals. Please contact your lawmakers on this issue and ask them to cosponsor this important patient care legislation. Please log in to ASRT’s E-advocacy website today and send a message to your lawmakers asking them to cosponsor the HR 1214 and S 1197.

It's easy to get to the E-advocacy website. Just click on the link below, enter your ASRT member number and social security number when prompted and follow the arrows at the bottom of each page. Each email you send to Congress from the ASRT E-advocacy site in 2004 scores points for your state affiliate society to win the 2005 ASRT Award for Outstanding Grass-roots Advocacy that will be presented at the ASRT Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida. Thank you for being an active participant in radiologic sciences advocacy!
